Under Shodh, we conduct embedded evaluations rooted in theories of implementation science and systems thinking frameworks. We possess a deep understanding of the dynamic nature of interventions and recognize the necessity for evaluation frameworks capable of accommodating evolving scopes of work, thereby facilitating meaningful assessments. With our extensive experience in overseeing large-scale programs, we possess comprehensive insights into the implementation perspective. We highly value the role of concurrent evaluations and feedback data loops in optimizing interventions.

Our approach encompasses end-to-end solutions, commencing with the conceptualization of the theory of change and extending to the development of research methodologies tailored to the specific requirements of each project. This includes the creation of tools, conducting data collection and analysis, as well as generating knowledge products. Throughout the process, we actively collaborate with our partners to enhance interventions based on the study findings. Our goal is to generate actionable recommendations that can be effectively translated into policies.

While at the central level, Shodh has a team of design thinkers, public health specialists, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, anthropologists, and social researchers, at the field level we have a team of around 150 surveyors spread across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. Our surveyors have undergone rigorous training, equipping them with the necessary skills in survey administration, blending the art and science of data collection seamlessly. Their training encompasses the intricacies of conducting multisectoral assessments within the domains of public health, education, livelihood, and WASH, thereby encompassing a broad spectrum of projects spanning various scales. By combining the strengths of our central team and the dedicated field surveyors, we ensure a robust and comprehensive approach to data collection and evaluation, enhancing the reliability and validity of our findings. Our commitment to training and skill development reflects our unwavering dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality in our survey administration processes.

Our team of accomplished professionals has effectively directed and supervised a diverse range of projects, demonstrating their proficiency in the field of evaluation. They have collaborated with esteemed institutions in the past, undertaking large-scale evaluations spanning multiple states. Among the numerous significant evaluations conducted previously, two notable examples include: firstly, an endline evaluation conducted in six districts of Uttar Pradesh to gauge the impact of interventions aimed at reducing under-five mortality caused by diarrhoea and pneumonia, and secondly, an evaluation of ten public health services and programs across 16 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The extensive expertise of our team members in impact evaluation is evident in their proficient management of our prior projects.
